The Circus Comes to Chicago
What Trump needs to do to win in 75 days, and the Left takes over Chicago - literally!
Good morning, Happy Warriors! 👋
Today is Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
We are 76 days away from the 2024 election.
Take a deep breathe - God is still in control!
Here’s the second-ever edition of “What’s Up, America? 🇺🇸” breaking down the DNC as I head off to school this morning:
1.) A Winning Strategy: 75 Days Out
[Julia Nikhinson/AP]
🔥 My take:
Tomorrow marks the final 75 days before the most important election in our nation’s history, and we can all agree the stakes couldn’t be higher!
In a political environment that has been completely flipped upside down in the past month with an attempted assassination and a top of the ticket nominee switch, Donald Trump faces an entirely different election cycle than he did 30 days ago.
Biden was an easy opponent. He didn’t campaign, and when he did, his numbers went down because of his blunders. Harris is an entirely different adversary. She’s younger, more energetic, using social media as a weapon, and will make history if elected. This election will not be a landslide anymore. It will be a close one. My advice: take your heart pills before results come in the night of November 5th.
Trump and Co. can’t run the same campaign they were previously running. The whole ball game just changed and we need to be on defense, not offense.
I think the perfect example of what the Trump campaign should be focusing on over the next 10 weeks is what he did at his Bedminster press conference this week.
His team stopped by the local grocery store, bought a buggy full of every day items, and laid them on the table beside Trump with big posters showing the price inflation per item: cooking oil up 38%, butter up 31%, cookies up 27%, etc, etc. Not only did he conduct his hour-long press conference beside the groceries, but he also filmed a viral TikTok after that and reached my fellow first time voters on their “For You Page”!
Genius! This is the way!
The voters Trump needs to secure a victory in November can be broken down in to three groups: Nikki Haley supporters, independents, and disenfranchised Democrats who correctly feel their party has gone too extreme.
Trump will not win these voters with personal attacks or the same rally lines he’s used for the past 8 years. Winning these groups will take discipline, which he is showing, and posing the simple question he posed in his first tweet back on the platform: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?”. Tie her to her administration’s failures!
There’s nothing any of us can do to counter the history that would be made if Harris is elected. You can attempt to hire Gen Z staffers and trend on social media but only some many of those views will convert to votes. The way to actually win this election in November is speaking directly to the everyday American who can barely stay above water in the current economy.
2.) The Chameleon Announces Her Colors of the Week
[AP]
🗞️ “Kamala Harris’ Economic Program Is A Recipe For A Depression”
🔥 My take:
After 3 weeks as the Democrat’s nominee who got no primary votes, Kamala Harris finally decided to announce her first policy as president: her economic plan.
Harris keeps telling the American people she will fix the economy on Day 1 in office. There’s just one problem: she’s already on Day 1,307.
Trusting Harris to fix the economy is the same as trusting the burglar to investigate his burglary. She caused the problem and now she wants you to elect her to fix it.
If you listened to Kamala Harris’ speech announcing her economic plan you might have been confused thinking she might be running to be the president of Venezuela.
But let’s put partisanship aside and break down her actual plan. I read it so you don’t have to:
Harris’ entire approach to inflation is misguided. She wants “price caps”, but the increases since she took office she’s trying to address aren’t due to these “greedy” corporations attempting to “price gouge”, they’re simply the result of her administration’s policies driving the national prices up! Let me take this moment to remind you that she cast the tie-breaking vote on two of the three largest spending bills during her time as Vice President. She could have stopped or prevented this. She chose not to, but if you elect her she promises she won’t do it again! Very convincing!
I spent a few days doing research on her proposal before writing this piece and the very first publication I found was by an Australian American historian named Ludwig von Mises titled “How Price Control Leads to Socialism” published in June of 1956.
This isn’t a new concept. This bailout attempt by politicians has been tried and failed for centuries and even in the 1950s, they saw through it as the first step towards socialism! You don’t even have to look at some far-off socialist country to see the failures of price caps! We’ve tried it here several times in the past century, under Nixon, Ford, and Carter. When they introduced fuel price caps, the country saw long lines at the gas stations. Harris’s grocery price caps would do the same but for bread lines, and then we would certainly look like a far-off socialist nation!
Bottom line: the real problem isn’t sellers, but actually Washington, D.C. driving costs up!
3.) DNC 2024: 1968 but worse!
[Melina Mara/The Washington Post]
🔥 My take:
(Allow the history nerd in me to come out for a second…)
They say history doesn’t repeat itself, but weeks like this one, it sure rhymes!
The 1968 DNC was one for the history books! The weeklong affair held in Chicago became infamous for it’s division and disarray. To remind you of the context of the time, MLK and RFK had both just been shot, international wars heightened tensions on college campuses and sparked protests from America’s youth, and incumbent president Lyndon Johnson dropped out of the race and refused the Democratic nomination.
Hmmmm. Sounds familiar!
In the past month, incumbent president Joe Biden has dropped out of the race and refused the Democratic nomination, youth protests over the Israel/Palestine war have shut down college campuses and DNC events, Trump was shot in the head at a rally in Pennsylvania…and the Democrat’s convention is in Chicago again.
There must be something in the Chicago air when it comes time for conventions there!
4.) Dems get desperate!
[Harry Sisson/Instagram]
🗞️ “Democrats turn to influencers to help share their message on social media”
🔥 My take:
I’ve said for the past year and a half that my counterparts on the Left like Harry Sisson were bought and paid for. We’ve showed receipts of checks from their party to their bank accounts - but now they’re not the only one!
Kamala Harris and the DNC are not so desperate to bribe my generation’s vote that they’re having third party agencies pay influencers $20,000 to come to their convention!
$20,000 - per influencer!
The inaugural GOP Creator Program we launched at our convention in Milwaukee had 100+ influencers in attendance and not a single one received a pay check.
We have the winning message on the right side of history and don’t have to pay influencers the price of a car to cover our events or share our message!
The problem is this - my generation scrolls, and scrolls, and scrolls through TikTok and Instagram and these paid for videos will be appearing all over their feed. There will be no header notifying the viewer that this is a DNC sponsored post.
This is wrong, this is election interference, and this should be called out - but nobody’s talking about it…why?
